Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing industries across the globe, and Viking Venture’s portfolio companies are continuously adapting to this transformation. In this article series, we delve into how our portfolio companies leverage AI to drive efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and stay ahead in their respective markets. First out – Xait.

Xait is a Business-to-Business (B2B) Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company that provides software for large enterprises such as AkerBP and Honeywell. Its flagship product, XaitPorter, helps customers work efficiently with large documents. Xait has integrated AI into XaitPorter, enabling an AI-driven approach to document optimization designed to streamline workflows and improve productivity for sales and tender teams.
XaitPorter leverages AI to simplify the process of finding and reusing text within existing documents. By employing a pre-trained AI model, users can quickly locate relevant text snippets from their database, saving time and improving productivity. As customers search within their own database, the solution is 100% secure, eliminating concerns about data leakage to the AI model.
XaitPorter speeds up document production efficiency by 70% through content reuse, thus improving overall productivity over time. This increased productivity enables the company to focus more on enhancing document quality.
At its core, XaitPorter employs a BERT-based AI model tweaked for the tool’s specific use case. Unlike generative AI models, which create new content, XaitPorter uses a discriminatory AI approach, fine-tuned to retrieve relevant existing data efficiently and accurately. This approach ensures faster and more reliable results, aligning perfectly with the needs of document-heavy workflows.
Xait has ambitious plans to expand XaitPorter’s capabilities by incorporating generative AI. Upcoming features include:
Customization remains a top priority, ensuring AI models align with customer-specific requirements while maintaining secure and confidential data handling.
Reflecting on their AI journey, Xait identified two critical insights:
– AI is at the core of our product development, and we will continue to use different AI technologies and approaches to serve our customer’s use cases best, comments John Ingve Eielsen, Chief Technology and Product Officer in Xait.
