The investment company Subvenio, together with the entrepreneur Jan Gottlander, with a background in Snow Software, among others, buys into our Swedish software company Flowbox. At the same time, Jan Gottlander takes a seat on the board.
Founded in 2016, Flowbox has developed a platform allowing businesses to repurpose their customers’ social media content into their channels. Now the company gets new investors when Subvenio and Jan Gottlander acquire shares worth just under SEK 11 million. They have bought shares from the founder and former CEO Marcus Carloni, who remains the majority owner even after the sale.
Jan Gottlander is co-founder of the successful IT company Snow Software, where he most recently held the role of Group Vice President. He held a focus on the company’s international expansion. In 2016, his operational involvement in the company ended. Today he focuses on his investments in growth companies in the tech industry. Jan Gottlander sits on several company boards at Snow Software and now Flowbox.
– There are many challenges for growth companies with international ambitions, and I think it is fun to share the experience I have acquired during my more than 30 years as an entrepreneur. Flowbox is an exciting company that has shown impressive development since the start. I look forward to supporting the management in matters such as go-to-market strategy, product range, and recruitment, says Jan Gottlander.
In 2020, Norwegian Viking Venture invested SEK 80 million in Flowbox to accelerate growth through external acquisitions. Last year, Flowbox merged with the Spanish competitor Photoslurp. The merger created a company with 65 employees spread over offices in Stockholm, Amsterdam, and Barcelona. Flowbox has annual recurring revenue (ARR) of SEK 85 million and is cash flow positive and profitable. The company’s approximately 850 customers are Björn Borg, Casall, Outnorth, and Havaianas.
-Flowbox is a company in good development with customers in 40 countries. We welcome Subvenio and Jan Gottlanders as investors and look forward to working with the company’s further development and growth together with Jan, the founder Marcus Carloni, and the company’s employees under the management of CEO Eulogi Bordas, says Eivind Bergsmyr, chairman of Flowbox and partner in Viking Venture.
