Mercell is the leading platform for public tenders in the Northern European market. In the past year, the Mercell group have made a number of acquisitions of other Nordic companies within this sector. Mercell’s core business is in the pre-award market. The company is now growing through acquisitions also within the post-award market, and will henceforth be able to offer its customers a complete service for the entire procurement process.
The latest addition to the Mercell group is the Danish Purchase-To-Pay (P2P) company Tricom. With its modern e-commerce solutions, Tricom is known for their good usability and functionality, and will be an important contribution to further growth for the group. The acquisition of Tricom is the sixth acquisition Mercell have made over the past year, and clearly confirms Mercell’s leading position in the market.
–We are very pleased to have completed our sixth acquisition in a short time, and that the exciting and strong Danish company Tricom will thus become part of the Mercell group. This milestone expands our product and customer portfolio both within the public market and also the private Business-To-Business (B2B) purchasing market. Tricom has a solid position in Denmark, and has thousands of supplier companies from 27 countries as users of the solutions. The acquisition of Tricom thus brings us a solid step further towards our vision of becoming the preferred supplier of digital bidding and purchasing tools across Europe, by realising the full potential of a user-friendly and reliable marketplace. We warmly welcome our new colleagues and look forward to the Mercell Group’s continued growth and travel now with yet another quality company as part of our constantly evolving group, says Terje Wibe, CEO of Mercell Group
–Tricom has been on an exciting journey – from being a single area to a full cloud-based platform that covers the entire process after the delivery. We are known for our agile approach, our service-oriented organisation and our user-friendly products. We have grown organically over the years, and our goal has been to secure a solid foothold in the public and private sectors in Scandinavia. This journey is just beginning, and we now have the opportunity to scale our services and deliver our platform to new markets and customers who can take advantage of the benefits of a fully integrated pre- and post-award platform. We look forward to becoming part of the Mercell Group, says Simon Clemen Hare, CEO Tricom Aps (picture above).
Tricom continues as an independent company within the Mercell Group – to ensure continuity of services and terms for all existing Tricom customers. CEO Simon Clemen Hare and COO Thue Bøje Kjelstrøm, who started Tricom in 2011, continue in their roles after the acquisition.
